Profhilo® Treatment

Profhilo® is a “bio remodelling” treatment made from hyaluronic acid (similarly to dermal fillers). Its has more of a more “honey-like” consistency, spreading and integrating in the tissue to treat a large area. Profhilo® is commonly used for the lower face and the neck area.

Where dermal fillers add volume, Profhilo® is different in that it induces biostimulation of cells, such as collagen, elastin and adipocytes.

The resulting improvements in skin structure can result in:

Profhilo® FAQ’s

  • The face, neck, décolletage and hands are frequently treated areas for Profhilo. There is also a Profhilo “Body” product which can be used for the, chest, arms, abdomen and other areas. Each of these areas is considered “one treatment area”. Most areas require 2 treatments, done a month apart. Certain areas (décolletage and hands) sometimes require a 3rd treatment.

  • Each treatment area involves 10 injections into specific areas. We usually allow an hour for an appointment so that we have plenty of time to answer any questions, take before photos etc. The actual treatment takes only 10minutes or so and has minimal pain or discomfort.

    You may have small hive like spots where the injections have been placed which settle over the coming days. Some people have a small amount of swelling, and as always when using a needle- bruising or bruise like pain may occur but is usually mild if at all. Rarely some people are a bit red and itchy in the days following.

    You will gradually see results over the following month. A month after treatment you will return to the clinic to review your results and make further treatment plans as/if needed. Repeat treatments are usually done yearly but can be done as frequently as 6 monthly if desired.

  • Collagen starts to diminish from our early 20’s. If you have started to see any age related changes in your skin, you are probably a candidate for profhilo!
    Profhilo is a particularly good option for those with age related skin laxity or whose who want to see a general overall improvement in their skin and skin health. Similarly to dermal fillers, if you are pregnant or have a medical history of active autoimmune issues, then unfortunately Profhilo isn’t a good option for you.

Profhilo Structura®

Profhilo Structura® is the newest addition to the Profhilo® family. This unique treatment improves signs of ageing through rejuvenation of deeper tissue structures, through “lipolifting”.

This one-of-a-kind skin treatments offers regeneration and anti-ageing benefits that are unmatched by other products on the market. It is the only product specifically designed to target the cells that specifically lead to volume loss and age-related sagging.

This innovative treatment boasts the highest concentration of Hyaluronic Acid available. The unique properties of Profhilo Structura® stimulate and repair adipose cells, resulting in a visible lifting effect, enhanced jawline contour, reduction of hollowing, and reduced nasolabial heaviness.

Additionally, you'll notice an overall improvement in skin quality, though individual results may vary.

Profhilo Structura® FAQ’s

  • If you feel like your face is “sinking” or “sagging” either through age or weight loss, then this may be a treatment for you. “Sinkers” usually have thinner skin and thinner tissue thickness, with more evident underlying bony structures or a holowed out appearance.
    “Saggers” typically have thicker skin and tissues with some laxity, and you may feel your face is getting “heavier” with heaviness in the lower part of your face/ jowl area. Some people have a combination of both of these effects.

    These appearances are often due to loss of structural fat support, this is where Profhilo Structura may help. The result helps restore healthy functioning of fat cells and a “lipolifting” effect without the widening that can occur with traditional dermal filler treatments.

  • It is recommended to repeat annually, but the treatment can be repeated every six months. Many people choose to do this treatment alongside the traditional dermal profhilo, which is a great option for a multilevel rejuvenation approach.

  • The common injection related side effects are usually mild and temporary, and may include one or more of the following:

    • Swelling, redness, slight bruising

    • Occasionally itching, pain/tenderness, or increasing swelling

Profhilo®, containing low & high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, is a Class III medical device for the treatment of the face and body for contours redefinition and laxity remodelling where skin laxity is a problem.   Profhilo has risks and benefits.
