Excessive sweating/ Hyperhidrosis

Excessive sweating, or medically known as "hyperhidrosis" can be a debilitating condition to deal with.

If you struggle with excessive under arm sweating, then botulinum toxin (Botox®, Xeomin® Dysport®) might be a good option for you.

Botulinum toxin works by blocking the signalling to the sweat glands, most people experience a reduction in sweating by 80% or more- and results usually last about 6 months for this treatment.

WHAT IS ANTIWRINKLE/ BOTULINUM TOXIN AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Botulinum Toxin is the most common non surgical cosmetic procedure performed world wide, and is commonly used to treat and soften lines and wrinkles, particularly of the frown, forehead and crows feet/smile lines. It is also used to treat many medical conditions. Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) being one of these. In the context of hyperhydrosis, botulinum toxin works by blocking the signalling to the sweat gland, so that they can no longer produce sweat. You typically start to see results in the first 3 days after treatment however it takes 2 weeks to take full effect. Results typically last about 6months for hyperhydrosis.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE/ WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME LIKE?

Having botulinum toxin is a fast, safe and effective procedure with little to no downtime required. It is usually done in a 30minute appointment. After treatment you can return to your normal daily activities, we just advise to not do any vigorous exercise for the rest of the day, avoid rubbing the area and facials/ face down massage for 2 weeks post procedure.
